Forest School

"Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees"

Forest School @ Ravenshall

We have two qualified Forest School Practitioners at Ravenshall: Mrs J Lewyckj (Primary) & Mrs K Millar (Secondary).

Forest School sessions are lead by a Forest School Leader and take place in all seasons and in all weathers except for in high winds and storms.

Our Forest School provides regular experiences outdoors which encourage, motivate, engage and inspire. Opportunities for hands-on learning in a safe natural environment where they feel valued, allows the child to initiate learning, explore, investigate and take and asses risks. Through a long term programme and observations, we aim to promote resilience, self-confidence, imagination and independence. Valuable relationships with their peers are developed and they gain a healthy respect for the natural world around them.
