Opportunities for pupils to extend their learning out of school hours and after school have expanded greatly over the past few years. Present funding ensures that clubs and activities can be taken advantage of and pupils are able to enhance their curricular experiences in a fun and creative way. Alongside on-going developments with the curriculum, a wide range of clubs have now been planned and set up to allow enhanced experiences open for all.
Mrs Frances Kemp now coordinates the range of clubs offered in terms of staffing and attendance by pupils. Arrangements are considered for those pupils requiring transport, which in the past has been a barrier for those wishing to attend after school clubs. We hope to extend these options for the and provide further opportunities for pupils to achieve and maximise their progress.
After school clubs provide extra intervention opportunities for targeted pupils eligible for Pupil Premium. These provide extra social and emotional, physical, and interactive opportunities.
The range of after school clubs presently being offered over the next term are:
Mondays No after-school clubs
Tuesdays Primary Football Club (Primary) - Secondary Girls’ Club (Secondary) - Secondary Film Club (Secondary)
Wednesdays Games Club (Primary) - ICT Club (Secondary) - Football Club (Secondary)
Thursdays Craft Club (Primary) - Design & Technology Club (Secondary)
Fridays Friday Live (13+) Young Batley Centre
All pupils are welcome to request a place at a club after school – please contact Mrs Kemp for details.
