Since September 2009 a group of Key Stage 4 pupils has followed a programme of activities in order to achieve Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
The Award can be achieved by students from 14 years old and upwards. In order to gain the Bronze Award, students must fulfil criteria in 4 different categories:
All of these will be achieved mainly within the school which the students are currently working towards.
They involve camping skills and planning a route, which they have to walk themselves without help.
All students involved will be awarded a certificate upon completion and future employers will look upon these students as demonstrating good independence skills and being able to work using their own initiative.
