A Special Afternoon Tea at 'Ravens Retreat'
On Monday 4th June pupils in the KS4 Enterprise pathways class had an extremely busy morning preparing egg mayonnaise, tuna and cheese sandwiches in preparation for Governors, parents and other guest’s arrival at 1.15pm for ‘Afternoon Tea’.
Pupils carefully set the tables with plates, cutlery and handmade floral decorations. They took pride in presenting the sandwiches and delicious homemade treats consisting of chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel, cupcakes with cream and strawberries, fresh cream horns, coconut tart buns and mini Victoria sponge cakes on the tiered cake stands. A huge thank you to Mrs Ali who spent many hours in her kitchen baking over the weekend for this event.
Ravens Retreat was extremely busy at lunchtime with staff queueing to be the first to sample the delicious treats. Everyone was incredibly impressed and were so full many staff left with a take-out treat in a box to have later on.
Pupils continued working very hard all afternoon as polite and courteous waiters and waitresses greeting and seating the guests, taking orders, making and serving a variety of hot and cold drinks whilst guests enjoyed eating and socialising.
All the guests who came commented on the spectacular presentation, amazing food and super-efficient service and they can’t wait to come back again soon.
Well done KS4 Pathways group a superb team effort. Mrs Horan, Mrs Waseleski and Mrs Hall are super proud of the new skills you have learnt and demonstrate every Monday at Ravens Retreat.
