Celebrating Attendance across the Dewsbury Learning Partnership
Thursday, October 10th, 2019
The Dewsbury Learning Partnership was formed in 2012 by a group of like-minded Dewsbury Schools. Our aim was to work in partnership to raise the profile of our schools and the excellent work that is going on to raise aspirations and achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and families.
We all recognise the importance of excellent attendance. Attending school helps children and young people to build confidence and self-esteem, it improves social skills and helps to build and maintain friendships. Good attendance at school also improves attainment grades in exams, tests and assignments which will improve life choices for young adults and helps when they enter the world of work.
On Thursday, 10th of October 2019 students, parents and staff from Ravenshall School along with eighteen other schools from within the Dewsbury Learning Partnership gathered at Huddersfield Town Hall for a presentation that celebrated students with exceptional attendance.
The audience were treated to an inspirational talk from Andy Walker, and performances from The Ukulele Group from Thornhill Junior & Infants School and a performance from students from Westborough High School.
Well done to all of the students from Ravenshall School and others from within the DLP!
