The winter months are now here, meaning the weather is going to be cold and wet. We wanted to help those who may struggle we found a lovely project that the students could help us with.
It was called a Reverse Advent Calendar. It worked by us filling them every day with items of food or clothing that were kindly donated by students, parents, careers and staff. The items were then collected by the Batley Homeless Project, helping those in the local areas of Batley, Dewsbury and Leeds.
Not only was it a fun thing for the whole school to do together, from creating the advent calendar structure itself to packing the goodies to go in it, but more importantly it taught the students the importance of helping others and seeing the bigger picture at Christmas.
Everyone involved did a fantastic job!
