Pathways at Meltham Golf Club

Pathways Golfing at Meltham Golf Club!

A group of our Pathways students have recently taken to the Fairways of Meltham Golf Club, to learn how to play the game, with Mrs McGrath and Mrs Dalton accompanying them. They were given the opportunity to have a series of four lessons over four weeks with the excellent Professional, Simon Race. Simon knew just how to get the most from each of our students. They learnt how to hold a club correctly, perform a swing, the art of putting, driving a long shot and even how to get out of a bunker! The winter held up well for us and students loved every minute of it all, including the picnic lunch in the Clubhouse where they could chat to members (and share golfing tips!)

It was wonderful to see our students participating in a sport they might never get to sample otherwise. On another note, one parent has already enquired about their son having further lessons – perhaps his “hole in one” on the putting green spurred his thirst for more. Always so proud of our students!
