Oliver Christmas Performance
Every Thursday after school since the summer – our Performing Arts After-School-Club were busy preparing songs, dances, learning lines, positions on stage, exits & entrances in order to stage their production of ‘Oliver – with a Twist, Ravenshall Style’.
In the end, just about everyone in school became involved somehow or other in order to make the Performing Arts group's dream come alive.
Many, many hours were spent creating the ambitious stage, the lighting and sound, and the authentic costumes. The result, it was widely agreed, was as good as anything to be found in a professional theatre.
Our special artwork advertising the production was produced by one of our students Zohayb Mahmood.
Pupils in P4 and P5 performed on stage to two of the musical numbers and all pupils in Primary and S1, 2, 3 and 4 – and a group of students from a partner school, Southgate, were filmed singing and signing the finale song ‘Oom Pah Pah’. What a fabulous way to conclude the performance that was!
A number of cameo roles were undertaken by staff members - which certainly added to the thrill of the event. They were brilliant ‘sports’ – and the best of role models.
They were all simply AWESOME!
